A loaded Thanksgiving Hoopfest lineup features state champions, several of the top programs in the four-state area, and arguably the nation’s top point guard, De’Aaron Fox.
DALLAS, Texas (November18, 2015) — D/FW is gearing up for the 7th Annual Thanksgiving HoopFest 2015 from November 27th-28th in Duncanville, TX. For the past six years, the nation’s top high school basketball players have flocked to Dallas to compete against each other and showcase their talent in front of notable coaches, scouts, fans, and basketball enthusiasts.
Thanksgiving HoopFest helps to illustrate why Dallas is considered the new ‘mecca’ of basketball by putting the top teams in the Dallas/Fort Worth area against many of the top teams in the United States. Marquee players this year include, De’Aaron Fox, Trae Young, Schnider Herard, Andrew Jones, JJ Caldwell, Cameron McGriff, RJ Nembhard, just to name a few.
MaxPreps, a CBSSports.com site, has named Thanksgiving HoopFest as one of the top Showcase events in the country.
Last year, the event drew over 5,000 spectators, and this year, the event is expected to draw an even larger crowd. Some college coaches that have previously attended the event include Bill Self from the University of Kansas, John Calipari from the University of Kentucky, Mike Krzyzewski (“Coach K”) from Duke University, Scott Drew from Baylor University and Johnny Jones from Louisiana State University.
Other previous attendees include Andre Gurode, Justin Forsett, Perry Jones, Jason Terry, Caron Butler, John Wall, Quincy Miller and Dez Bryant.
